High-reflectivity scanner mirrors and matching high-performance optical systems facilitate precise beam steering in laser and scanner systems which are for example used for the welding and marking of components. Shorter pulses allow us to transmit significantly more power. This is a new challenge for optical parameters for which Materion Balzers Optics offers corresponding coating systems from UV to NIR. As well as classic metallic coatings, Materion Balzers Optics’s product portfolio ranges from high-reflectivity and high-range HR functional layers (R > 99.9 %, 320 - 2000 nm) to anti-reflection layers on laser windows, each with the maximum laser damage threshold.
