Near infrared bandpass filters create superior photodetector systems at an optimized signal-to-noise-ratio. They protect
detectors from undesired ambient background radiation
or other spurious light sources (e.g. distance measurement).
The improved signal-to-noise-ratio enables the detection of
even faint signals. Due to the superior density and quality of
sputter deposited coatings, NIR bandpass filters are highly
resistant to a permanent high temperature load and can therefore
be used in hot environments.
